Arctic Thunderbirds Air Show
Every two years, Elmendorf Air Force base in Anchorage puts on an air show. This year was special, due to Alaska's celebration of 50 years of statehood. Andrew and I went, and we had a ball!
Andrew got to sit at the controls of a FedEx plane...
He also got to sit at the controls of a training plane...
There were a lot of big planes to tour...
...even an AWACS!
We saw an F22 Raptor show...
Andrew got a souvenir helicopter...

We saw parachuters...

And then the highlight of the day, the Arctic Thunderbirds got ready to roll...

They are amazing...
Here is a video montage of some footage of the F22, parachuter, and the Thunderbirds...
And my favorite photo of all, here is Andrew on the way home from the Air Show...sound asleep with his bear "Old Jack" by his side, holding a Blue Angels airplane. Wonder what he's dreaming about?
